I was doing some research on Jonesboro Arkansas today and was amazed to see how much the substance abuse and drug addiction problem had grown. I guess I shouldnt be suprised at the need for Arkansas drug rehab in and around Jonesboro, but this time I was.

I had been involved with a drug rehab project several years ago and what i saw was a failry upscale little, big town that seemed peaceful. Keep in mind there was a drug problem but not really to the degree it seems to be now.

Jonesboro is ranked 74th  in the country for gang activity with cocaine and crack cocaine more than abundant. Heroin is shipped into Arkansas from Baltimore, Maryland being supplied my Colombian drug cartels.

Methamphetamine has been plaquing Jonesboro, Arkansas for years and does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Apparently there is a new method called shake and bake which makes the drug all the easier to make.  

Even more suprising was the lack of Jonesboro drug rehab programs. The substance abuse and mental health administation shows four facilities within 50 miles of Jonesboro. There are  Christian based drug rehab programs in Arkansas but not withing 300 miles of Jonesboro. Looks like if your going to get drug rehab help in Jonesboro your going to have to travel to get it.
